1. Read, digest and adhere to all Rules.

2. Ensure that Umpires' Coats are clean, dry and in good repair.

3. Ensure that there is an ample supply of sawdust if required.

4. Ensure that pitches are correctly marked out in plenty of time to ensure a prompt start.

5. Ensure that you have a competent Scorer and that your team sheet is written out ready to give to the opposing Captain.

6. Allocate one person whose responsibility is to phone the match result for publication in the National Sunday press.
Note: Make a habit of phoning in whether your side is playing at home or away.

7. Ensure that if batting first both opening Batsmen are padded up ready for a prompt 2.00 pm start (1.30 pm April and September).

8. Ensure that if fielding first, the wicket-keeper is padded up ready for a prompt 2.00 pm start. (1.30 pm April and September).

9. Ensure that members of your side conduct themselves at all times in a manner worthy of true sportsmen.

10. Send off the Ground/Result sheet to the Ground Report Secretary promptly.
